Trumpington Farm Company operates primarily to the south and west of Cambridge and north to Lolworth. The operation farms Pemberton family-owned land around Trumpington and Haslingfield and has tenancies with three colleges. Whole farm contracting is carried out for a number of land owners, including all arable operations for Cambridge University Farms and one off operations for neighbours.
The business has grown to some 1950 hectares since its creation in 1957 and has diversified away from farming only to amenity activities such as angling.
Trumpington Farm Company and AF Pemberton (Thorney Farms) Ltd can provide combinable crop operations from primary cultivation through to harvesting. We offer services from a one-off operation or management of the whole growing season or for multiple seasons. Primary operations such as mole draining, ploughing and min-till cultivations prove especially popular due to the equipment available and importance of timeliness. One of our Case Quadtracs fitted with auto steer and 2 leg mole drainer being an excellent combination.
Crop applications are available in 40 metres and both farms operate seed drills that can be programmed for all conventional tramline widths.
Harvesting services range from cutting the crop through to providing carting and store loading to suit the individual customer. Both farms operate Claas Lexions; 580+ on tracks at Trumpington and 570+ at Thorney.
For sugar beet growers we can provide any operation except harvest and haulage, the latter being contracted to Bartlow Estate, with whom we have a longstanding arrangement.
