Machinery is purchased to best suit the operation with a bias towards high output, reliability and the use of the latest technology to improve efficiency and quality of operation. This has lead to a fleet that is diverse in manufacturer, but best matched to need. Mainline powered machinery is from Case, John Deere, Claas, JCB and AGRIFAC, whilst equipment from Simba, Vaderstadt, Cousins and Dowdeswell dominates cultivation and crop establishment.
Application of technology such as GPS auto tracking, performance monitoring by satellite linked telemetry, the ability to variable rate apply seed and fertilizer, plus harvester guidance by laser pilot, all contribute to our efficiency.
As a founder member of RTK Farming, Trumpington Farm Company uses this sub 25mm repeatable accuracy for key applications across the whole farm. Phosphate, potash and pH is sampled by GPS and applied using variable rate application equipment to target requirements and not waste resources where they are not required.
